Dear Medway Community,
Several members of our greater Medway community have indicated interest in fundraising for and donating a large “rearing” mustang statue to be placed in the lobby of Medway High School. Further, they are interested in donating this statue in honor of Mr. William Phipps. Mr. Phipps was a long time Medway school employee who served in multiple roles during his more than three decades of service to our school district.
Donations to the Medway Public Schools require Medway School Committee approval. Since this donation will also be given to honor Mr. Phipps, it is important that the Medway School Committee hear from the community. On Thursday, February 27, 2020, the Medway School Committee will hold a public forum to hear from the community regarding this potential donation. This forum will provide interested community members with the opportunity to share their feedback with the Medway School Committee. This meeting will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Presentation Room, Medway Middle School, 45 Holliston Street, door #7.
If community members are not able to attend, and would like to share feedback about this proposed donation with the Medway School Committee, they are asked to send an email to Ellen Quinn, Secretary to the Medway School Committee, at equinn@medwayschools.org.
Sincerely,
Armand Pires, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Schools
