April 13, 2020 Community Update
Dear Medway families,
I wanted to share that the Medway School Committee, upon my recommendation, has voted to adjust the 2019-2020 school calendar. Based on feedback from families and staff, we will continue remote learning Tuesday, April 21-Friday, April 24, in lieu of April vacation. Please note that Monday, April 20 remains a no school day as it is a state holiday. Thank you to the many families who participated in our quick survey that resulted in an overwhelming consensus around continuing learning next week. Our last day of school will now be Thursday, June 19, 2020.
In addition, today is the first day of remote learning. Similar to the first day of school, we expect that there will be issues to deal with as we enter this new dynamic. Please review the Medway Public Schools Remote Learning Plan for clarification on expectations around remote learning. Please keep in mind that this plan differs from our weeks of alternative, optional enhancement/enrichment student learning plans. You should have received communication with specific details from each of our building principals and classroom teachers regarding these new expectations. We hope that you will continue to partner with us in patience and flexibility.
Be well,
Armand Pires, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Schools
